Short answer
Soft washing uses low pressure plus a biodegradable cleaning solution to clean siding, stucco, and painted surfaces without damaging them. Pressure washing uses high pressure and is meant for hard surfaces like concrete driveways, sidewalks, and patios. Houses get soft washed; flatwork gets pressure washed.
Why siding shouldn't be blasted
High pressure can force water behind siding, strip paint, damage stucco and caulking, and break window seals. Soft washing lets the cleaning solution do the work, then rinses everything off at low pressure β safe for vinyl, stucco, brick, stone, and fiber cement.
Where pressure washing belongs
Concrete can handle β and needs β more power. We use rotary surface cleaners for an even, stripe-free finish on driveways, walkways, and patios, and pre-treat oil and rust stains first. See pressure washing.
Is soft washing safe for plants and pets?
Yes, done right. We pre-soak and rinse landscaping, use biodegradable detergents, and protect outlets and fixtures. Pets should stay inside during the wash and can come out once we've finished rinsing. See house washing.
Rather have a pro handle it?
