Spring March–May
Spring is when winter shows up on your house. Months of wet weather, road grime, and gray inversion air leave a film on glass and siding, and then pollen, seeds, and — near the river — cottonwood fluff arrive right behind it. Irrigation water comes back on mid-spring, and with it the first sprinkler spots of the year.
Summer June–August
Treasure Valley summers are hot, dry, and dusty. Irrigation runs full-time, so sprinkler spray dries on low windows in hours. Wind carries dust off fields and open ground, bugs collect on glass and screens, and in late summer wildfire smoke can leave a gray film on everything.
Fall September–November
Fall is the most important season for exterior cleaning in the valley. Irrigation shuts off in the fall, so a cleaning now removes a whole summer of sprinkler spots and dust and stays clean. Leaves come down through October and November, spiders build webs on every eave, and it's the time to get your Christmas lights on the calendar.
Winter December–February
Winter in the valley brings inversions — stretches of cold, stagnant air that leave a gray film on windows — plus low sun that shines straight through the glass and shows every streak. Interior cleaning works any time, exterior cleaning happens on dry, above-freezing days, and holiday lights need to stay working through New Year's.
