Short answer
Orange rust stains on Treasure Valley concrete usually come from iron in irrigation or well water. Pressure alone won't remove them β they need a rust-specific pre-treatment applied before cleaning. Most irrigation rust lightens dramatically or disappears; very old, deep staining may only fade.
Where the orange comes from
When iron-rich water hits concrete over and over, the iron oxidizes and soaks into the surface. It's common along driveway edges, sidewalks next to lawns, and anywhere a sprinkler head overshoots onto the slab.
How we treat it
Rust needs the right chemistry before any water hits the surface, so mention rust when you request a quote and we'll plan for it. After pre-treatment, we clean the whole slab with rotary surface cleaners so the area doesn't look patchy, then rinse everything clear.
Keeping it from coming back
Adjust heads that hit the concrete β the same fix that keeps sprinklers off your windows. Otherwise, the stains will slowly return with every watering.
