Short answer
Late fall, after the leaves have finished dropping β usually November in the Treasure Valley β so gutters are clear before winter freezes. Homes under big trees, especially in older neighborhoods, often need a second cleaning in spring to clear seeds, buds, and anything that blew in over winter.
Why late fall matters
Wet leaves packed into a gutter hold water. When that freezes, it can back up under shingles, pull on hangers, and send meltwater over the edge onto walkways and foundations. Clearing gutters after leaf drop and before the hard freezes avoids most of that.
Do you need a spring cleaning too?
If you live under mature trees β common in the North End, East End, and older parts of Nampa and Caldwell β spring brings seed pods, buds, and pollen that clog downspouts. Newer subdivisions with young trees usually only need the fall cleaning.
How we clean them
Every run is cleared by hand into buckets β nothing blown onto your roof or beds β then gutters and downspouts are flushed and flow-tested, and you get before-and-after photos with your invoice. See gutter cleaning.
